First Set of Athletes Arrive for ColinaImperial CAC Championships

Nassau BAH - On Sunday evening (3 July), Trinidad and Tobago’s trio of Marc Burns, Darrell Brown, and Fana Ashby arrived in Nassau for the ColinaImperial CAC Championships. Earlier that day several other athletes, including sprinter Cydonie Mothersil from the Cayman Islands arrived.

Brown is the World Youth and World Junior Champion. He holds the World Junior Record for the 100m and won the silver medal in the 2003 Paris World Championships.

Ashby is the defending champion for the 100m in the championships, winning the event in Grenada in 2003. She is also the NCAA Indoor Champion.

Brown won the 100m and Burns the 200m when they last competed in Nassau for the 2002 Carifta Games. During the Trinidad and Tobago National Championships Burns and Brown became the first to run sub 10secs in the 100m. Burns clocked 9.96secs to Brown’s 9.99.
